The Bristol Eastern baseball team won their third consecutive game on Wednesday, with a comeback win over Plainville at Clem Roy Field, winning by the score of 5-3.

Eastern trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the fifth, and then sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs, and taking a 5-2 lead.  With one out, Gabe White singled, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored when Noah Molinsky reached on an infield error.  Ben D’Amato followed with a single, and both runners scored on Owen Myers double to deep left-center. A walk to Preston Guarda, and RBI singles by Mason Harris and Jonny Montgomery resulted in a 5-2 Lancer lead after five innings of play.

Plainville had taken a 2-0 lead, scoring a run in the third on an RBI infield single by Tate Stevens off Eastern starter Anthony Nocera, and getting their second run in the top of fifth on another Stevens rbi single off reliever Jonny Montgomery.

Nocera pitched the first four innings for Eastern, while Montgomery threw the final three, picking up his first win of the season.

Nocera allowed three hits and one run, striking out six and also walking six.  Montgomery allowed two runs,  four hits, and struck out two with no walks.  Plainville left ten runners on base.

For Eastern, Ben D’Amato had a perfect day at the plate,  with three singles and an intentional walk.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
