Bristol Eastern senior Alyssa Lavoie is on her way to Quinnipiac College. She is one of four Bristol Exchange Club scholarship awardees who agreed to talk with The Bristol Edition about their high school activities, the unusual conclusion of their high school careers and what it means to be recognized by the Exchange Club for their accomplishments.
Alyssa’s conversation is Part 1 in the series of four interviews.
PART 2 — Alyssa is followed by Amalya Pelletier, who is also a BEHS senior. Amalya is the winner of the Exchange Club’s ACE Award, which recognizes a student who has overcome tremendous obstacles to graduate. She plans to attend Tunxis Community College.
PART 3 — Disha Beri, BEHS senior and first prize winner of this year’s Bristol Exchange Club scholarships, will now compete against other first prize winners for the district’s Exchange Club Youth of the Year Award. She will be heading to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she plans to study Bio-Medical Engineering.
Part 4 — Jitshu Sajeevan, Bristol Central High School senior and chess enthusiast, is a nationally-ranked chess player and plans to attend the University of Connecticut, where is has been accepted into the highly regarded honors program.
