On Monday, the state of Connecticut coronavirus website reported 525 confirmed cases in Bristol, with 68 for a .0875 rate of infection. Total tests reported from Bristol totaled 2,420. In a population 0f approximately 60,000, the tests reflect a percentage of .04 here having been tested.
At the same time, the number of confirmed cases in Connecticut totaled 41,288, with 3,803 deaths. 229,769 tests have been reported, around .066 of the total population.
On Wednesday evening, The New York Times, among others, reported that the number of deaths from Covid-19 had reached 100,000 across the nation.
Earlier, in Sunday’s edition, the Times featured on its front page and continuing inside the paper, the names, ages, city and a note about approximately 1,000 people from across the country who have succumbed to Covid-19.
Three Bristolites were included in the list:
“Denise Camille Buczek, 72, Bristol, Conn., loved writing birthday and holiday cards, poems and lists”;
“Barbara Helen Richardson, 97, Bristol, Conn., trained and accomplished singer”; and
“Janice Lin Bisley, 70, Bristol, Conn., favorite of all her nieces and nephews.”
