Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9, Memorial Boulevard will be closed for high school graduation activities, with a senior night procession of cars on Memorial Boulevard, beginning at 5 p.m. One car per family, with a sign, name and picture of each graduate, rolling past a viewing stand with administrators and teachers. Activities will continue at the schools from day to day with graduations walks of students crossing an outdoor stage at their respective schools, filmed by Nutmeg TV as part of a virtual graduation night program to be held June 17.
Tuesday, June 9, the second annual Pride Flag Raising ceremony will be held at City Hall, 5:30 p.m. The event kicks off LGBT Pride Month.
Also, on Tuesday, monthly City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall. It is preceded by a joint meeting of the Finance Board and the City Council at 6:45 p.m.
Wednesday, June 10, the city is holding “A Community Conversation on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” at Rockwell Park, 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 11 thru June 19, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will be paving the section of Rt. beginning at the Plymouth townline and ending at Sherman St. in Bristol.
