The City of Bristol joined New Britain as one of only two Connecticut municipalities to be recognized for achieving Sustainable CT certification for the spring of 2020, the city announced recently.
In its application for Sustainable CT certification, Bristol demonstrated significant achievements in actions in nine sustainable impact areas ranging from inclusive community building, thriving local economies, and vibrant arts and culture to clean transportation and diverse housing, according to the release.
Bristol will be recognized later this year at the Annual Convention of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities along with all spring and fall 2020 certified communities.
One-hundred six municipalities have registered for the program. Collectively, 48 municipalities have been certificated since 2018.
Certification lasts for three years. The highest level of certification currently offered is silver.
