The 3rd Annual Mayor’s Back-to-School Pencil Hunt registration deadline is Thursday, Aug. 20 through the Bristol Parks and Recreation website, www.bristolrec.com.

It is important that prior to registering for the event, parents review the Covid19 procedures that are available at: www.bristolrec.com.

The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Muzzy Field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with participation by grade level at the following times:

• Pre-K Grade Pencil Hunt: 10-10:15 a.m.
• K-1st Grade Pencil Hunt: 11-11:15 a.m.
• 2-3rd Grade Pencil Hunt: 11:45 a.m.-12 noon
• 4-5th Grade Pencil Hunt: 12:30 -12:45 p.m.
• 6-8th Grade Pencil Hunt: 1:15-2 p.m.
• Drive-thru Pencil Hunt: 1:30-2 p.m. (for medically fragile or immunocompromised families)

Times are being staggered to allow for cleaning between stages.

The event is for Bristol families with school-age children attending public, parochial, private or those that are home-schooled.

Prizes include Leapfrog Academy, an Amazon Fire, a Kindle, a Chromebook, a TI84 calculator, binders, notebooks, pens, and more.

Local sponsors include First Bristol Federal Credit Union, Bristol Plaza, Shop-Rite of Bristol and other community members.

The rain date is set for Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
