Bristol Eastern swept Southington in volleyball Thursday by scores of 25-22, 25-11, and 25-23.

The first and third sets were hard fought affairs, as each team traded the momentum back and forth. At the end of each set, the Lancers made the crucial plays that led to victory.

The Lancers were led by Ryley Plourde with 10 kills and Zoe Lowe with 9 kills and 17 digs. Leah Chipman had 32 assists and 9 digs.

Emma Rodjenski had 5 kills and Sage Scarritt had 7 kills and 4 aces, while Lucy Winiarski had 8 digs. Amber Champagne had 1 dig, while Brianna Champagne had a 100% serving percentage.

Southington was led by Emma Pfanzelt with 12 digs, Kayli Garcia with 4 kills, and Gabrielle Ferreira with 4 kills and 3 aces.

BE is now 4-0; Southington is 2-2.

Before the contest, Eastern honored its big group of seniors who have brought so much to the team in effort and positive example. The seniors are: Ryley Plourde, Leah Chipman, Brianna Champagne, Amber Champagne, Sage Scarritt, Emma Rodjenski, Lucy Winiarski, and Zoe Lowe.
