As of 5 p.m., 73 percent have voted

The number of in-person voters grew to 17,351 as of 5 p.m., according to unofficial figures from Democratic Deputy Registrar Tracy Beland in her latest update.

In addition, she texted that 188 people took advantage of election day registration.

“188 EDR ballots delivered at 4 … line down the hall to the TC (Town Clerk’s) office,” she wrote.

At 5 p.m., there were no lines at either Chippens Hill Middle School or West Bristol, TBE Contributing Editor Jack Krampitz reported.

With 17,351 in-person voters and 9,838 absentee ballots, unofficially, totaling 27,189 of Bristol’s 37,196 eligible voters, the percentage of voters at 5 p.m. was 73 percent.

The polls close at 8 p.m. Absentee ballots will be accepted until then, as will registrations that meet the proper requirements: a proper photo ID and proof of residency.

Absentee ballots received today will be counted Wednesday.
