The Bristol Eastern volleyball team cruised to a straight set victory over Lewis Mills Monday by scores of 25-8, 26-24, and 25-17.
In the first set, the Lancers made it look easy as they served very well and the points were mostly quick and easy.
After the first, Eastern coach Stefanie Reay mixed and matched all of her players, spreading playing time over the entire roster.
Mills stiffened their defense in the second period, and actually had a good chance to win the set, as they led 24-21 and had 3 set points. But Eastern ran off 5 points in rapid succession and suddenly the set was over.
The third set was well-played by both sides, but the Lancers simply had too much firepower for the Spartans to overcome.
Eastern was led by Zoe Lowe with 7 digs and 15 kills, Hannah Webber with 10 kills and 6 aces, and Leah Chipman with 33 assists and 3 aces. Ryley Plourde chipped in with 9 kills.
Bri Pelcher led Lewis Mills with 6 kills and 10 digs.
With the victory, Eastern runs their record to 11-0. Lewis Mills drops to 2-9.
The Lancers end their regular season on Thursday with a home match against New Britain.
