Commission for Persons With Disabilities hosts guest speaker at December 9 meeting

The Commission for Persons with Disabilities announced its guest speaker for their Wednesday, December 9 meeting at 7:00.

Heather Hitchcock, the Community Education Manager of Bristol Health Behavioral Health, will present information about Bristol Hospital’s new ER Telehealth, which offers virtual Emergency Department visits from the comfort and safety of your own home using a smartphone or camera enabled device.

The Bristol Health Behavioral Health Continuum of Care provides the most comprehensive services in Connecticut. The resources available include help for those dealing with mental health illnesses and issues.

The City of Bristol’s Recovery Alliance (COBRA), which is a partnership with the City of Bristol and Bristol Health to help those with substance misuse to choose treatment and recovery, will also be a focus of the presentation.

Chairman Dan Micari said that, as with any other City Board or Commission meetings, this meeting is open to the public. Anyone interested is encouraged to learn more by virtually joining the meeting.
