Eastern girls down Central in early season showdown

The Bristol Eastern Girls Basketball Team defeated Bristol Central by the score of 69-37 Friday night at the Central gym.

The Lancers went out to a 24-9 lead after the first quarter, highlighted by 15 points from Ciara Collins, including three 3-pointers. 

The second stanza was a low scoring affair, with each team netting nine points. The halftime score stood at 33-18

Eastern then exploded with a 24 point third quarter to put the game out of reach. Sage Scarritt scored 9 points in the period and Cali Doyon  chipped in with 6 points on two 3 pointers.

Eastern had four players in double figures as Collins finished the game with 29 points, scoring from all over the court.  Scarritt scored 12, and  Doyon and Alyssa Kehler added ten each. 

The Lancers canned nine 3-pointers in the game. 

Ella Watson was the only Central player in double figures, scoring 10 points.  Janessa Bartell added 8 points, and Brooke Watson and Arianna Rivera each scored seven. 

Eastern is now 2-0, while Central falls to 0-2.
