BC boys track & field put together the total package against rival BE on Friday

BRISTOL – The Bristol Central boys track and field team toppled the outfit from Bristol Eastern, winning by a 115-33 final from the track at BCHS high school on Friday.

The CCC South tilt saw the Rams snare first place in 14 events as Central took all three relay challenges.

The Rams’ combination of Austin Freve, Chris Roy, Ryan Sarmiento, and Ramon Peters won the 4×800 relay in 11:35.

And then in the 4×100 relay, the team of Cassias Breland, Trey Jones, Xavier Browne, and speedster Victor Rosa finished in first place with a time of 46.5 seconds.

Finally in the 4×400, Austin Freve, Mitchell Peterson, Peters, and Noah Conrod did well with a finish of 3:48.

And then, in individual action, Rosa won both the 100 and 200 meters.

In the 100, Rosa hit the finish line in 11.1 seconds and then in the 200, he came in first with a time of 23.2 seconds.

Central ended up taking one of the two hurdle races on the afternoon.

In the 300, Josh Poulin hustled out a first place finish in 53.3 seconds while the 800 meter event saw Freve win once again.

He took first place with a time of 2:03.

And in the 3200 meters, the Rams’ Noah Morrison took the event in 13:06.

In the high and long jump events, Treshawn Blair was another dual event victor.

Blair won the high jump with a leap of five feet and four inches and then in the long jump, he won with a make of 19 feet and 3.25 inches.

Jakob Salinas won the javelin with a mighty toss of 165 feet, two inches and in the discus, Dan Lauretti took first place (115 feet, nine inches).

And Jones snared victories in both the triple jump (38 feet, three inches) and shot put (42 feet, 10 inches).

For the Lancers, Joshua Moore won the 110 hurdles in 21.3 seconds while in the 1600 meters, Ean Newman took the event in 4:56.

In the 400 meters, Eastern’s Dante Marciano finished the one lap challenge in 53.3 seconds while in the pole vault, Carter Harris pushed the limit – finishing in first place with a successful make of 11 feet.

On the girls side of things, Central also dominated as the Rams defeated Eastern by a 109-39 final.

This Tuesday, Central, Eastern and the rest of the CCC South duke it out in the CCC South boys and girls divisional meet from the track at BCHS – starting at 3 p.m.

And then on June 1, the CIAC Class L championship commences from Willow Brook Park in New Britain, starting at 4 p.m.
