Several Bristol businesses earn nominations as Best of Connecticut 2021

The City of Bristol announced today that along with the Bristol Farmers Market, several Bristol businesses have made it into the final round of Connecticut Magazine’s BEST OF CONNECTICUT 2021 list.
Hundreds of reader-nominated places, people, and activities from around the state in more than 130 categories of food, drink, activities, health, fitness, shopping, and more have made the list in this year’s survey.

In addition to the Bristol Farmers Market being nominated and making it to the final round as the best farmers market in the State of Connecticut, the following Bristol businesses have received enough votes to be in the final round of voting:

Parkside Café for best pancakes

Harvest Bakery for best bread

Lake Compounce for best amusement park

South Side Meat Market for best butcher shop

IT! for best candy shop

Thank you to all who have voted to help these businesses and the Farmers Market reach the final round. We encourage everyone to take the time to vote in the final round to support these businesses.
“We hope Bristol takes a minute to click and support these great businesses,” said Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu. “If even a few people decide to take a ride and explore this list, the chances are that they will find other things to do and see while they are here.”
The voting in this round will determine the overall winners from each category, along with a number of runner-up finalists – the number of finalists will vary depending by category.
You may vote only once with a valid email address in this round. After you submit your ballot you will receive an email containing a link allowing you to edit your choices. You may make edits at any time until the survey closes at 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2021.

Indian Rock looking to borrow a few kayaks

Indian Rock’s Summer Day Camp is in need of some extra kayaks for use in their summer day camp.  This week, they have two kayaking groups and are short a couple of boats. Whitewater kayaks would be ideal, but recreational kayaks will also work.

If you can help them out with the loan of a kayak, please contact Kirsten Tomlinson at 860.583.1234 or ktomlinson@elcct.org.
