City encourages preparation for upcoming heat wave

With temperatures on the rise the next few days with anticipated high heat and humidity, the city of Bristol is announcing that the following cooling stations will be available for those needing help to get away from the heat.

The Bristol Public Library is open Monday –Thursday from 8:30am-8pm, Friday and Saturday from 8:30am-5:00pm.

Bristol Parks and Recreation reports all splash pads will be open from 1pm -7pm each day.

The Agape House at 43 School Street is open Monday – Saturday, from 8am – 12 noon.

Local businesses often welcome individuals to come in from the heat, but please be conscientious. Kindly follow individual location mask requirements and guidance.

As a reminder, kindly check in on family and/or elderly neighbors. Keep hydrated and remember, animals should not be left outside in the heat or in vehicles.
