The following news release has been issued by the City of Bristol.
The Bristol Farmers Market will be held on Saturday, September 4th from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Centre Square so the community can shop for all their Labor Day picnic needs.
Beginning September 4 the community can safely dispose of their unwanted electronics at the Farmers Market each week until Saturday, October 30. Community volunteers will be on hand from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. each week to assist with items that are dropped off. Electronics recycling services will be provided by Take2 Secure Electronics Recycling. Items that can be dropped off include: computers, tablets, cell phones, printers, keyboards, computer monitors, laptops, cameras, TVs, and video game consoles.

The September 4th Farmers Market will feature a variety of vendors offering early fall produce, mum plants, and locally-made products.
Guest vendors will include the Bristol Exchange Club, who will be promoting the upcoming Mum Festival Weekend to take place September 23-26.
The Bristol Police Department will be providing an opportunity for the public to ask questions and receive information by providing educational materials on a wide range of topics. Educational topics will include: crime prevention (ID theft, Starting a block watch, general tips to stay safe) and drug abuse awareness. Free prescription drug take back envelopes, as well as kids stickers and pencils will be available for the community.

And the food trucks will be Dude’s Donuts and Heavenly Smoke BBQ.
In addition to being an authorized SNAP/EBT farmers market, the City of Bristol Farmers Market is recognized by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture as accepting payment vouchers from the Women, Infants, and Children Farmers Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. All participating farms are certified by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture.
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers for $21 are available through the Bristol Senior Center. If you are a Bristol senior and are eligible for this program based on your income – you must provide proof of income – please contact the Senior Center Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. 860-584-7895. You will need to show your license to pick up the vouchers.
