James Loughery, 66, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Pamela (Sinnott) Loughery, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 4, after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Jim was born in New Britain on Aug 8, 1955 and was the eldest son of the late Francis and Elizabeth Loughery. He was raised in New Britain but spent most of his adult life in Wethersfield.
Jim was currently employed at Backus Hospital in Norwich where he had a long and rewarding career. He worked his way up from a temporary employee to become Director of Plant Operations for both Backus and Windham Hospitals.
His co-workers were his friends and second family. He will always be remembered for his very generous nature, sense of humor, and kindness towards all that knew him. He will be greatly missed. His loves included beach vacations, his beloved Red Sox, but most of all his family and friends.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife Pam of 34 years; his two children: Kimberly and James Jr.; his brother Mark Loughery; two grandchildren: Jalen and Nathaniel; niece Kate, nephews Jonathan and Joseph; along with his brothers-in-law: Martin and his wife Lorraine Sinnott, and Jon Sinnott. Jim was predeceased by his daughter Gina, brother Bill, and special aunts Ruth and Helen.
As an active member of the PAC in Newington, where he spent many hours, he also leaves many special friends with whom he shared a brotherhood. Rest in Peace Jim, we will never forget you.
