The Bristol Police Department announced on Friday that arrests have been made after an investigation of the shooting of a female victim on August 30 on Blakeslee Street at the Huntington Woods apartments.
“I am very pleased that we were able to execute these arrest warrants for the Blakeslee Street incident and quickly take these two individuals into custody,” said Police Chief Brian Gould.
On August 30th, multiple patrol officers were dispatched to the area of 200 Blakeslee Street for an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspects fled the scene and the victim was transported and treated at an area hospital. Bristol Detectives then responded to conduct an investigation.
Based on an extensive investigation and collaboration with the Patrol Division, probable cause was established and two arrest warrants were signed and served on the following:
Malkisua Rosado, age 26, no certain address, was charged with Robbery 1st degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st degree. He is held on a court-set $500,000 bond.
Jaymily Ortiz, age 31, of 200 Prospect St., apartment 3E, was charged with Assault 1st degree, Robbery 1st degree, Illegal discharge of a firearm, and Criminal possession of a firearm. She is held on a court-set $500,000 bond.
“This is not the type of activity we want in any neighborhood and I am happy that the Police were able to identify and remove these two individuals from the street,” said Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu. “On another front, we are also targeting landlords who do not do adequate background checks and allow disruptive activities to occur within their apartments.”
“We strongly encourage residents and neighbors to communicate with us, their representatives on City Council, as well as to use the COPS Tip Line at 860-585-TIPS to anonymously report any suspicious activities so that it can be investigated,” said Councilwoman Brittany Barney, who represents Federal Hill, where this incident occurred.
