It is with deep sadness that we announce that Roy Allen “Al” Connett, Jr., 70, of Plantsville, beloved husband of Marie Anthony Connett, is resting in the arms of the Lord after passing away on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
Al was born in Bristol on Jan. 15, 1951, and was a son of the late Roy A. Connett, Sr., and Louise (Gagne) Connett. Raised in Bristol, he graduated from Bristol Central High School and worked at Quality Coils and Collision Clinic. He has resided in Plantsville for the past 21 years where he worked for Chuck and Eddie’s.
Al loved to fix things and work on cars. He enjoyed going to monster truck shows, bowling, and visiting his niece, Roberta, in Craftsbury, Vt. He attended St. Anthony Church in Bristol.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by two brothers: Tony Connett of Oklahoma, and Gary Connett of Missouri; several nieces and nephews including Tina Monahan and husband, Patrick, of Bristol and Roberta Drouin of Vermont; grandson, Ethan Keough; great-nieces and great-nephews including Stephen Monahan of Bristol; and close cousin, Michael James of Texas. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Lou Seery.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 3 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
