The City of Bristol’s Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services has issued the following press release:
Win a Thanksgiving turkey! The City of Bristol’s Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Department’s 24th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Contest is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at the Chippens Hill Middle School Gymnasium.
Teams consist of a child ages 4 to 13 and a parent/guardian. The Turkey Shoot will test the teams’ skill and accuracy in a basketball foul shooting (free throw) contest for a chance to a $25 gift certificate to purchase a turkey for thanksgiving! Winners will be awarded in each age group with t-shirts, gift cards, and raffle/door prizes for first through third place.
Recreation Supervisor, Amry Shelby, expressed his anticipation for the event’s return, “The Turkey Shoot is something I’m personally looking forward to. I love seeing community members of all ages on the court having fun with family and friends.”
Teams will start at different times based on the participating child’s age:
9:30 AM- Ages 4 & 5
10:00 AM- Ages 6 & 7
10:30 AM- Ages 8 & 9
11:00 AM- Ages 10 & 11
11:30 AM- Ages 12 & 13
Shelby went on to explain “We’re moving back indoors to the Chippens Hill Gymnasium this year. We’ll continue to implement our department’s COVID guidelines to ensure that all participants are able to have fun while remaining safe.”
