Ronald J. Guenther, Jr., 65, of Winsted, died on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at home. Ron was born in New Britain on July 7, 1956, and was a son of Nora (Donati) Guenther of Bristol and the late Ronald J. Guenther, Sr.
He was raised in New Britain where he graduated from Goodwin Technical High School. He formerly was a longtime Bristol resident working as a carpenter for Arthur Industries, Seguin Builders and Guenther Construction. A muscle car fan, he owned at one time a Chevelle, Olds 442, and a ‘75 Chevy Fleetside Pick-Up. He was also a fan of the LA Rams and watching NASCAR especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr.
In addition to his mother, Ron is survived by two sons: Joseph Guenther and wife, Sarah of Winsted, and Dean Guenther and significant other Kathy Persechino of Dunedin, Fla.; three brothers: Robert and Michael Guenther of Bristol, and John Guenther of Southington; two granddaughters: Olivia and Hannah Guenther, who brought him much joy; several nieces and nephews, and his longtime companion, JoAnne Lozefski.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Wednesday, Dec. 29, between 11 a.m. and 12 noon followed by a prayer service at noon. Burial will be private.
