James D. Madden, Jr., 84, of Bristol, died on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Ingraham Manor. James was born in Bristol on June 25, 1937, and was a son of the late James Madden, Sr. and Margaret (Loomis) Madden.
Raised in Bristol, he graduated from St. Anthony High School. An avid reader, he formerly lived in New Jersey for several years where he was a librarian at the Howell Public Library. He also worked for Great Adventure caring for the tigers.
He leaves a brother and a sister-in-law: Daniel and Catherine Madden of Bristol; a nephew, Brian Madden and his wife, Jennifer; nieces: Cynthia Madden, Keri and Kelly Hoadley; and great-nephew: Xander Madden. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother: John L. “Johnny” Madden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol, on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.
