Edwina (Michaud) Nadeau, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Florida. Formerly of Bristol, Edwina lived in Satsuma, Fla., with her husband, Bob, who predeceased her in 2005.
Edwina was born in Fort Kent, Maine, on Sept. 16, 1931, and was the youngest child of the late Thomas and Marie (Fongemie) Michaud.
She met her husband, Bob, the love of her life. They settled in Bristol where they raised their six children: Grace Barnes, Rita Rogers who died December 2021, Peggy Bazinet, Larry Nadeau, Ruth Nadeau, and Robert J. Nadeau. After retiring, they moved to Satsuma, Fla.
Edwina was an avid reader, an avid follower of current events, a devout Catholic, and a lover of cats. At a recent celebration of her 90th birthday, she was lovingly surrounded by her five children, her six grandchildren: Shawn Barnes, Leah Bennett, Erin Tracht, Caitlyn Kozenko, Derek, and Tyler Anthony, her bonus grandchildren: William and Bridget D’Angelo, and her seven great-grandchildren: Mia, Ashley, Reilly, Hannah, Jake, Jasmine, Foxtrot, and her bonus great-grandchildren: Austin, Brianna, Andrew, and Brayden. Edwina was greatly loved and will be missed forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.
