Newly established scholarship in memory of Bristol woman accepting applications

The following is a press release from the Main Street Community Foundation.

When Alicia Butler passed away in June 2021, it was natural for her friends and family to honor her
memory by establishing a scholarship fund at Main Street Community Foundation.

Alicia was born and raised in Bristol, a graduate of St. Paul Catholic High School, and was a lifelong educator. In her career as a teacher and school psychologist in the Cromwell Public Schools and at The Foundation School in Orange, she was a dedicated and devoted champion of special needs children. The Alicia M. Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund will continue her legacy of living a life full of love, compassion, meaning and purpose.

The first award from this Fund will be granted this spring. A $1,000 scholarship is available to a graduating senior or past graduate from one of the three Bristol high schools who is pursuing a major in
education or a related education pathway. Applications are being accepted through March 11, 2022.
