Magda Jabs, 88, of Bristol, widow of Waldemar O. Jabs, died on Sunday, May 1, at Bristol Hospital. Magda was born on April 29, 1934, in Bremerhaven, Germany and was a daughter of the late Dietrick and Dorothea (Morisse) Haack. She was a longtime Bristol resident and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked for the Bristol Press and enjoyed crocheting and ceramics.
Magda is survived by three children: Dorothea Sontag of San Diego, Calif., Edward and Randolf Jabs, both of Bristol; three brothers: Gustav Haack and his wife Marita, Theo Haack, and Dieter Haack and his wife Elizabeth, all of Germany; a sister and brother-in-law: Leni and Bernhard Bruenjes of Germany; and several nieces and nephews in Germany and the United States. She was predeceased by a son, Waldemar E. Jabs, and sons-in-law: Carlo Positano and Robert Sontag.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St., Bristol. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday between 10 and 11 a.m.
