BRISTOL – On a glorious Tuesday afternoon, the Bristol Eastern girls tennis team finally got to the pay window – defeating Lewis Mills by a 6-1 final from the tennis courts at BEHS in a CCC South bout.
The Kingstreeters moved 1-6 on the campaign while the Spartans fell to 0-8.
Lewis Mills ended up forfeiting the No. 4 singles and No. 3 double slots while the Lancers won four of the five on-court battles that day.
In top singles play, Eastern’s Brooke Treannie defeated Hailey Maiga by set scores of 6-1 and 6-3 while at No. 2, Bristol’s Trisha Mohan won as well.
She was able to stop Liz Atkins (6-2, 7-5) and in the third singles spot, the Lancers’ Olivia Dossias topped Aurielle Weatherspoon by scores of 6-0 and 6-2.
Eastern ended up sweeping singles action as the Spartans had to forfeit the final match but the visiting aggression was able to win the top doubles showdown.
The combination of Summer Abdelrehim and Sami Nestor defeated the Eastern duo of Kiana Ouellette and Samantha Rivard (6-0, 6-2).
However, the Lancers prevailed in the second doubles match as the team of Ava Gesner and Taylor Berube were nearly flawless.
Gesner and Berube spun Mis ‘Ure Holmes and Addy Datzuk by duplicate scores of 6-0.
Eastern is right back to work, weather permitting, on Wednesday as the program travels to Manchester for a match against East Catholic.
The CCC Interdivisional showdown takes place from Wickham Park at 3:45 p.m.
