Isabelle ‘Izzy’ LaFountain, 79

Isabelle (Aubin) “Izzy” LaFountain, 79, of Bristol, beloved wife of Howard R. “Howie” LaFountain, died on Monday, May 30, at Bristol Hospital. Izzy was born in Bristol on Sept. 25, 1942, and was a daughter of the late Isadore and Marian (Thibault) Aubin.

She was a lifelong Bristol resident where she graduated from St. Anthony High School. She attended Goodwin Tech for hairdressing. She was a skilled hairdresser who was loved by all of her clients. She also loved caring for her plants and creating beautiful stained glass items. A meticulous house made her happy.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, Izzy is survived by four children: Darlene Saucier and husband, Jeff, Krista, Michael, and Marc LaFountain and his wife Tricia; grandchildren Spencer LaFountain and Wesley Kelley along with Brian Saucier and his wife Amy, Jennifer Simmons and her husband Mark, Nicholas Saucier and his wife Samantha, Amanda Brennan and her husband Michael, Cheyanne, Aiden, and Kailyn LaFountain, Lillie Foose, Lucas and Lucien LaFountain, Serenity Fortier; great grandchildren Leah, Will, Anne, and Jack Saucier, Nora and Leo Simmons, Hannah, Abigail and Ian Saucier, Madeleine Brennan, and Jude Foose.

She is also survived by a sister, Susan Middleton of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. Those who she called family are too many to number. She had a special connection to her beloved pet dog, Chubbs. Izzy will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Izzy did not require a biological connection to call someone “Family.”

Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Tuesday, June 7, between 10 and 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebration at St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
