Parks Dept. hires two Bristol residents, BCHS grads

Two Bristol Central graduates have been hired by the City of Bristol Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services. Kevin Dragon and Carlos Rivera will fill the positions of Park Maintainer and Parks Heavy Truck Driver, respectively, according to a release from the Parks Dept.

Bristol Central Graduate Kevin Dragon worked previously as a laborer with Blossom View Landscaping, where he supervised four other grounds crew members. As Park Maintainer, Kevin will be responsible for a variety of maintenance responsibilities across the city’s 730-acre park system.

Bristol Central Graduate Carlos Rivera worked previously as a crane operator and truck driver for companies including Clark Dietrich, Patterson Enterprise, A.E.S. Redial Contracting and Forestville Lumber. He has held a Class A CDL for the past 20 years. As Heavy Truck Driver, Rivera will be responsible for operating parks heavy equipment for plowing park roads as well as other seasonal park maintenance tasks.

All readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access five (5) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access ten (10) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have no limits.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
