Carol J. Carter, 84, of Bristol, widow of Russell Carter, passed away on Tuesday, July 19.
Carol was born on June 4, 1938, in Bristol, the daughter of the late Stanley and Jennie (Pietrowski) Kaczmarczyk.
Carol was employed by the state of Connecticut in human resources for over 20 years. She was a synchronized swimming coach at the Bristol Girls club where she taught swimming as well. Genealogy was one of her passions as well as traveling, she saw the world.
She is survived by her two sons, David Kevin Carter of Terryville and Richard Carter and his wife Laura of Bristol; her brother Paul Kaczmarczyk; her sisters Paula Pellegrino and Janet Kaczmarczyk; her grandchildren Kirsten Carter of Middletown, Brandon Carter of Illinois, and Adam and Katherine Carter both of Bristol; her three great-grandchildren Kai Martinik, Jaxson Flattery and Raven Carter and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Chelsea Carter; her brother David Kaczmarczyk and most recently by her daughter-in-law Patricia Ann Carter.
Calling hours will be held on Friday July 22, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol.
