P.T. Barnum is the subject of the Bristol Historical Society’s Third Thursday Program on Thursday evening at the historical society on Center Street.
Tom Vaugh will present “Barnum’s Connecticut with the Yankee Clock Business” at 7 p.m. The program traces the relationship between Barnum and Bristol clockmakers. Some original artifact time pieces will be on view.
Among the personalities Vaughn will discuss are Chauncey Jerome who became Bristol’s first industrialist and mayor of New Haven; and Theodore Terry, another Bristol clockmaker, who managed to extricate himself from a dangerous financial situation.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited. A $5 donation is requested for non-members. Parking is available behind the building. Refreshments will be served.
