Great music, local vendors and family trunk or treating are all coming to Bristol this weekend. Whether it’s delighting in authentic Greek cuisine or shopping outdoors in the autumn air, Bristol has several entertaining events to enjoy.

Faith & Blue Trunk or Treat

The Bristol Police department and the Bridge Community Church will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event. Children, who can attend with or without costumes, will have the opportunity to check out the department’s police cruisers, evidence truck and SWAT vehicle. The event will be held at the Bridge Community Church, 43 School St., on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Bonfire Bash featuring Spirit Shaker

The Bristol Swedish Social Club will host their Bonfire Bash, featuring the musical talents of rock power trio Spirit Shaker. The doors open at 6 p.m., with Spirit Shaker taking the stage at 7 p.m. Admission is $10, and food and drinks will be available. The event will be held at The Swedish Social Club, 38 Barlow St., on Friday night.

The Farmer’s Market

The Bristol Farmer’s Market brings local vendors, community organizations, and non-profits to the Health Medical Care Center parking lot in Centre Square. The weekly event is held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will continue for four more weekends, through Oct. 29.

A Taste of Greece Mini Festival

St. Demetrios Orthodox Greek Church will be hosting “A Taste of Greece.” Authentic Greek cuisine including lamb shanks and moussaka will be available, alongside baklava and other tasty treats. The mini festival will be held at St. Demetrios Church, 31 Brightwood Rd., on Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
