Both the Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern volleyball teams made up part of the field in the 2022 Central Connecticut Conference Tournament championship.

The Lancers, the defending tournament champs, fell at Simsbury (3-0) this past Saturday in first round play.

The Eastern/Simsbury showdown was a rematch of last season’s CCC finale.

On the flip side, the Rams – ranked eighth in the fray – earned a first-round home match, leading to a 3-0 sweep over overwhelmed Manchester.

Central won via set scores of 25-8, 25-9 and 25-17.

The reward for the Rams is a date against No. 1 RHAM (15-1 CCC record).
