BRISTOL – The annual boys Bristol Middle School Cross Country championship, held this past Wednesday from the course at Page Park, was another competitive bout.
And this time around – on an unusually warm November afternoon – Noah Pellerin from Greene Hills won the individual title.
The outstanding eighth grader took the event in 13:06 – seizing the championship and establishing the course record in the process.
But the team title went to West Bristol as five of the top 12 spots in the showdown belonged to that particular middle school program.
For West Bristol, Dean Stark (3rd, 13:37) was the top finisher of the winning program.
Stark, a talented seventh grader, led the West Bristol squad while sixth grader’s Caleb Sokołowski (5th, 14:020 and Michael Bastiaanse (8th, 14:25), along with eighth grader Kamil Rutkowski (11th, 14:38) and seventh grader Izayiah Odum (12th, 14:58) led the victorious outfit.
St. Joseph was the runner up of the event with 46 points – keeping the winning program in doubt until the very end of competition.
Eighth grader Cody Wilson was the runner up of the race with a finish of 13:32 while teammate, seventh grader Lukas Dahn, crossed the line in 13:51.
Also placing among the top-10 at the Bristol Middle School championship was Chippens Hill eighth grader Elijah Dreiling (6th, 14:09) while St. Joseph seventh grader Hunter Dudzikowski was next in seventh place (14:24).
Northeast Middle School – who was third at the event with 79 points – was paced by sixth grader Luke Labriola (9th, 14:25).
Rounding out the top-10 was St. Joseph’s Gavin Fisch as the sixth grader placed tenth in a time of 14:29.
