Polling locations throughout Bristol are seeing a steady turnout of voters for the midterm elections. Among the positions on the ballot are state representatives, state senator and governor.

“It’s been averaging about 23 percent turnout so far,” said Marissa Mazzone. “It’s been pretty steady all day, and we’re expecting it to get very busy from 4 to 8 p.m..”

Mazzone is the moderator at South Side School, the polling location for the first precinct in District 79.

With just two polling locations in district 78, both Chippens Hill Middle School (first precinct) and West Bristol School (second precinct) are seeing steady voter turnouts so far.

Mountain View School, the polling location for the third precinct in District 77, saw a heavy turnout in the morning with a lull during the lunch hour. Volunteers estimated that they were averaging about 200 voters per hour.

All three districts are anticipating a large uptick in voter turnout after 5 p.m.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have no limits.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
