If you have some time this weekend, make sure you get yourself downtown Rockwell Park.
For the 37th year, Mrs. Rockwell’s Pavilion at Rockwell Park is being transformed into Winter Wonderland, offering tons of holiday fun for local families.
The event, hosted by Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services, will be held Friday,
December 9th from 6 to 7:30 p.m., as well as, Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th from noon to 4 p.m.
Kids will have an opportunity to visit with Santa Claus, and explore multiple winter holidays celebrated right in our city.
“Bristol residents celebrate a number of holidays between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day,” explains Sarah Larson, Deputy Superintendent of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services. “We are excited to be able to showcase a small number of those holidays including Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa and the Winter Solstice at this year’s event.”
In addition to holiday crafts and photos with Santa, visitors will be able to enjoy Story Time with Santa at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, a Chanukah story on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., as well as a Kwanzaa performance by the Queen Ann Nzinga Center on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Children will also receive a free candy cane and hot chocolate will also be available for $1 per cup. For more information, contact the Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Office at 860-584- 6160.
