Hello, Bristol. Welcome back from wherever you have been. Let’s begin.
Weather
High 30s, and the usual suspects, sunny and clouds.
Toast anyone?
Approximately 17.4 million toasters are sold every year in the U.S.
Watch out
This Friday is Friday the 13th. Oh my. The Nervous Nellies amongst us are at DEFCON 4.
From the word cemetery
Maffle. To stammer; to stutter
Two-minute warning
Nearing the end here, people. Did you know Shakespeare invented over 1,700 words? Among them are moonbeam, laughable, eyeball, bump, puking, champion, bedroom, excitement, and zany.
They said it
In August of 1973, Harry Fiorillo, treasurer and campaign coordinator for the Don Cassin for Mayor Committee, said of the current mayor Frank Longo, “He is the most negative person to ever sit in the mayor’s chair.”
The comment was regarding the mayor’s opposition to recreating a crisis intervention center in Bristol.
The time to go follies
That does it for today. Spend some time doing the things that make you happy today, Bristol.
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access eight (8) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
