Good morning, Bristol!

Wednesday is in the archives, Thursday is at the plate while Friday is on deck, and Saturday is hitting in the hole. Let’s put up a crooked number.

Weather

Rain and damp in the AM and then sun with temps in the 50s.

1979 called to let us know

In 1979, Bristol Hospital had 250 beds.

They said it

U.S. Rep-at-large Frank Kowalski, from Meriden, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, told the Bristol Democratic Town Committee that their endorsement of Secretary Abraham Ribicoff by the local committee was “manipulated directly from Democratic state headquarters” and that the endorsement “does not reflect the sentiments of the large majority of Bristol.”

“Poor old Bugs. But, any way you look at it, it’s better he should suffer. After all, it was me or him, and obviously, it couldn’t be me. It’s a simple matter of logic.”

Daffy Duck

Sold!

Campbell’s sells 1 billion cans of soup a year.

And the crowd goes wild

Breaker-breaker. That does it for today. We be 10-10 on the side, Bristol.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
