The calendar claims today is Thursday, but it does not feel that way. Alas, we will just take it at face value and move on.
Weather
Partly cloudy. Mild in the low 50s.
For those headed to the Historical Society for Ellen Zoppo Sassu’s presentation celebrating the accomplishments and firsts of Bristol women over the last 200 years, it will be an excellent night to get out.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. so folks may browse the exhibits. The program begins at 7 p.m. and is offered at no cost to the public. Light refreshments will also be served. How about that, Bristol?
Opening Day
Major League Baseball’s opening day this year is March 30. All 30 teams are scheduled to play, which will be the first time since 1968 that every team is playing its first game on the same day.
SNL
On this date in 1991, Michael J. Fox hosted. The Black Crowes were the musical guest and performed “Thick and Thin” and “She Talks to Angels.”
Fans of A. Whitney Brown were sad because this was his final episode.
Bristol roads starting with the letter Z
Zack Lane and Zipp Avenue.
For those about to rock
We might salute you, but it is time to go and we are tired, so let’s not make a fuss. We will see you tomorrow (maybe).
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
