Bristol Water & Sewer Department performing emergency repair to fire hydrant

The Bristol Water and Sewer Department announced that they will doing emergency repair to a fire hydrant Monday after a motor vehicle accident caused significant water flow on Stevens Street at Strawberry Hill Road. 

“Our crews will work diligently to replace the fire hydrant and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause residents,” stated the Water & Sewer Department in a press release on Monday morning.  

“We will stay on site until water is restored to all customers. Surrounding areas may also experience a period of low water pressure. When the water is turned back on, you may experience some discolored water. If you do experience discolored water, please run an outside faucet or bathtub until the water clears.”

Customers who are affected an extended service interruption may bring their own containers to the water filling station located at the Water Filtration Plant. Filtration Plant Operators will assist in filling the water containers, and there is no charge to customers affected by the water service interruption. 

The Water Filtration Plant is located at 1080 Terryville Ave. and can be reached at (860) 583-6504. It would be appreciated if customers could call the plant in advance of arrival.
