BERLIN – The Bristol Central girls track and field program fought gamely at Berlin on Tuesday afternoon, dropping a tough 81-65 decision from Biscoglio Track.
It was the opening meet for both programs.
Berlin nabbed all but six first place slots at the CCC South bout as the Rams did their best to hang around at the competitive event.
Central’s Christina Browne was a dual winner, seizing first place in the long jump (15 feet, one inch) and the triple jump (30 feet, eight inches)
Emily Blanchette dominated in the 110 hurdles with a finish of 19.35 seconds and in the pole vault, Central’s Rayiah Reinhard cleared six feet, six inches for the individual victory.
Bristol’s Emily Blanchette took the 300 hurdles in just under a minute (59.57 seconds) and in the 800 meters, Sophia Stark won the event in 2:33.9.
The Rams will be back in CCC South action on Tuesday, April 18 as Middletown hits the Mum City for a dual meet starting at 3:45 p.m..
The Blue Dragons lost their opening day battle at Plainville on April 4 by a 96-53 score.
