BLOOMFIELD – The Bristol Central boys track and field squad did well at the annual Tammy Schondelmayer Invite from Bloomfield High School on Saturday.
The Rams had several competitors finish throughout the top-8 of the events as senior Tre Blair ended up winning the triple jump.
One of the featured triple jumpers in all the state, Blair won the event with a leap of 44 feet, four inches.
The athlete also tallied second place in the long jump, finishing the jaunt with a successful make of 21 feet nine inches.
Also in the triple jump, Anthony Paulino (41 feet, 2.5 inches) was the runner-up, Nathanyel Davis (38 feet, 11.5 inches) placed fifth and Will Postell (37 feet, 8 inches) finished up in eighth.
Frankie Porrini had another strong showing, seizing second place in the 800 meters with a finish of just under two minutes (1:59.41).
Paulino nabbed fifth place in the long jump (20 feet, six inches) while Luke Jackson was a top-four finisher in both the 110 (16.33 seconds) and 300 (43.37 seconds) hurdles.
In the pole vault, Central’s Kenny Whitford cleared nine feet to earn a fifth place finish while the squad’s 4×800 meter relay team was also successful.
The combination of Patrick Wininger, Lance Archibald, Aiden Georgakopoulos, and Chris Roy earned sixth place in 8:54.99.
Wininger ended the 1600 meters in seventh place (4:48.58), Chris Roy (3200 meters) took seventh place in 10:48.94 while in the high jump, Will Postell ended the event with a seventh place finish with a leap of five feet and four inches.
And in the javelin, Central’s Wyatt Gibson ended the day in eighth place with a successful toss of 116 feet, seven inches.
Central is back to action in CCC South action on April 18, making its home debut against Middletown at 3:45 p.m.
