BRISTOL – This past Tuesday, the Bristol Eastern boys track & field team was an easy 113-39 winner over Maloney in a CCC South meet from Alumni Field in Bristol.

And several athletes took home first place honors for the Lancers.

For starters, Zion Otero nabbed top marks in the 110 hurdles (19.3 seconds), 300 hurdles (46.84 seconds), and made up part of the winning 4×400 meter relay team (3:42).

Veteran Dominic Tartarelli won the 1600 meters (5:04), 3200 meters (11:17), and helped the 4×400 meter relay team to victory.

Speedster Rayshon Andrews, the newly minted record holder in the 100 and 200 meters at Eastern, won the 100 in 11.28 seconds.

Jack Mulcunry earned first place in the 400 meters (51.4 seconds), 200 meters (23.09), and was a winning member of the 4×400 meter relay team.

Jase Koczur took the 800 meters (2:38) and to no one’s real surprise, Isaiah Lawrence-Bynum won the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, one inch for the win.

Benjamin Kozikowski took the high jump (five feet, four inches),

Phoenix Diaz won in shot put (35 feet, 11 inches) and discus (106 feet, three inches) events.

Austin Shorette’s toss of 113 feet, four inches was the throw to beat in the javelin and Ethan Cockayne cleared nine feet in the pole vault.

The 4×400 meter relay team of Otero, Dylan Bartucca, Tartarelli, and Mulcunry grabbed the winning time in 3:42.

NOTES…The Bristol Eastern sprint medley relay team of Preston Poirier, Justin Sanchez, Rayshon Andrews, and Jack Mulcunry qualified for the New Balance Nationals this past week.
