BRISTOL – The Bristol Eastern girls track and field team was able to notch a triple digit score against Lewis Mills on Tuesday in a CCC South bout from Alumni Field on the campus of Bristol Eastern High School.
The Lancers ended up 100-49 winners as several athletes nabbed first place tallies for the home program.
That winning came from many fronts as Princess Priscilla Dilone helped out in the short distance sprints.
She won the 100 meters (13.4 seconds) and was a member of both the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relay squads.
Julia Armington was also a participant on both 100 and 400 meter relay teams while squaring away the 400 meters in 63.8 seconds to win the event.
Cecelia Gilbert went undefeated in both 800 meter races.
She nabbed first place in the 800 meters in a time of 2:36 and was also a winning member of the 4×800 relay team.
Ryan Braccia’s leap of four feet, 10 inches, won her the high jump while she also helped the 4×100 meter relay team capture the win.
Also in the field, Zephaniah Foote threw the discus 77 feet, five inches for the win while Lauren Ayotte posted first place in the javelin with a heave of 74 feet, 10 inches.
Speedster Kaelyn Gonzalez won the mile event in 5:39.50, took first in the 3200 meters (12:19) and made up part of the winning 4×800 meter relay team.
There was a complete sweep of all three relay events by the Kingstreeters.
The Lancers finished the 4×100 meter relay in 53.88 seconds as Armington, Isabel Bray, Braccia, and Dilone crossed the line first.
The combination of Armington, Kaydence Meyer, Emily Piendak, and Dilone won the 4×400 relay race in 5:30 and the 4×800 meter relay foursome of Gilbert, Gonzalez, Ayotte, and Emily Piendak won in 11:45.
The Lancers are on the road for their final three CCC South meets to end the campaign, starting on Tuesday as the Kingstreeters battle Middletown at 3:45 p.m.
The following Tuesday (May 9), the Lancers travel to Berlin in league action and then on May 16, it’s time for Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern to finally collide in a no-miss CCC South extravaganza.
