Pitchers Dom Napoletano, Isaac Leon, and Mitch Crowley combined to throw a no hitter for St. Paul and lead the Falcons to a 10-0 win over Wilby Wednesday afternoon.
The only baserunner for Wilby, Noah Marrero, reached on an infield error in the 4th inning. Starter Dom Napoletano picked up his first varsity win for St. Paul, and starter Jurel Batista took the loss for Wilby.
The Falcon offense got going early scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. After a lead off single by Logan Rembish, Rembish stole 2nd, stole 3rd, and scored on a throwing error. Then a walk to Devin Kulas was followed by five consecutive hits: an RBI double by Cal Chance, RBI singles by Cole Raymond, Ryan Kilpatrick, and Jonathan Remillard, and a single by Bryce Adamski. Remillard and Adamski later scored on an infield error, and St. Paul led 7-0 after one.
St. Paul did not score again until the bottom of the 4th inning. Lead off walks to Arden Polverari and Carlos Hernandez set the table. After Mitch Crowley grounded into a fielder’s choice, Ryan McKenna picked up his 1st varsity hit and RBI with a single to left field. Jack Dennehy followed with a SAC fly to center scoring Crowley. Then Tony DeSena doubled driving in McKenna for St Paul’s 10th run. The final was 10-0.
