BRISTOL – The Suffield co-op boys lacrosse program was limited to just a single goal against Bristol Eastern on Monday afternoon, falling by a 10-1 final from the turf of Alumni Field in Bristol.
It was the second consecutive double-digit victory for the Kingstreeters (7-2 overall) as the defense has played extremely well over the last two matches.
After defeating Windsor 16-3 last Thursday, Bristol allowed just four goals to sneak by excellent keeper Max Stavens since the loss to Wethersfield.
Stavens and the defense, headlined by Jake Warszawik, Jake Hartley and Connor Akerley, held the crew from Suffield scoreless except for a single goal that was notched during second period play.
The Eastern keeper stopped 13 of 14 shots that afternoon (93-percent), allowing the offense to shine – getting to work for multiple goals.
And the offense was certainly diversified for the winning team.
Vinny Howley and Jayden Glasper each connected on two goals apiece while Ian Reardon, Aiden Collins (two assists), Brady Bell, Chase Dauphinee, Dylan Brown and Braydan Dwyer all added one score apiece to tackle the Suffield program.
Howley captured six ground balls to lead the Bristol program, Dwyer had five while Collins added four to the till.
Tonight, the Bristol co-op battles the contingent from Meriden (Maloney/Platt) in a CCC South showdown from Platt High School.
Match time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
