Two shows featuring Bristol natives are among those featured in the Rockwell Theater’s fall schedule, its premiere season.
Lead singer of the Queen tribute band, “Celebrating Queen,” is Joe Archambeault, who will be bringing the show back to Bristol for a second time in September.
John Beardsley will bring “The Nashville King” with Christmas songs by Elvis Presley for a Christmas show in mid-December.
The Downtown Live series schedule, announced by Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services in cooperation with the Bristol Arts and Innovation Magnet School, follows:
Saturday, Sept. 9, 8 p.m. “Celebrating Queen,” Saturday, Sept. 9, at 8 p.m. (Doors open at 7 p.m.) “Celebrating Queen” out of Los Vegas has performed extensively throughout Europe and in festivals and concerts across the United States.
Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. “Rocky Horror Picture Show” with Live Shadow-casting by RKO Army (Doors open at 5:30 p.m.) RKO Army is a shadow-cast group performing in the Rhode Island, eastern Connecticut and southern Massachusetts area since 1981. They are known primarily for their legendary performances of cult classic.
Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. “Scenes – A Billy Joel Experience” (Doors open at 6 p.m.) Formerly known as “Cold Spring Harbor, Scenes,” the Billy Joel Experience has been performing throughout New England and beyond since 2013. Their mission is to celebrate and recreate the music of Billy Joel to the highest and most authentic standard.
Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. “Christmas with the Nashville KING” (Doors open at 6 p.m.) Beardsley returns home to celebrate Elvis’ Christmas music at the first stage he ever performed on for a journey through holiday classics by the King of Rock n’ Roll, Elvis Presley.
Tickets range in price from $15 to $40 a person depending on the show. Tickets for all Downtown Live performances are available at www.bristolrec.com .
