Fall resurfacing program to begin Monday, Aug 21

The city will begin its Fall road and street resurfacing program Monday, Aug. 21. The following streets will be milled and resurfaced:

  • Tunxis Road
  • Mattatuck Road
  • Indian Trail
  • Seneca Road
  • Iroquois Road
  • Mohawk Road
  • Crown Street
  • Norris Drive
  • Driscoll Drive
  • Woodward Drive
  • Woodward Place
  • Mossa Drive
  • Wooding Street
  • Perkins Street (Matthews to Pinehurst)
  • Fox Hollow Lane
  • Fisher Ridge
  • Dogwood Lane
  • Marcia Drive (Ivy to cul-de-sac)
  • Alice Terrace
  • Mountain View Avenue
  • Vera Road
  • Beths Avenue
  • Hiltbrand Road
  • Kathern Street
  • Wooster Court

The work will be completed in two phases, according the Public Works release announcing the program. The initial phase involves removing the existing bituminous pavement of each road. A second phase places new bituminous surfacing, to be completed shortly after the first.

The city will repair any damaged driveway aprons as part of the second phase.

Minor traffic delays should be anticipated during construction. Streets will be open for mail delivery, emergency vehicles and local traffic at all times. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted as needed.
