Spooktacular at BAIMS field is a Halloween treat

A Mummy Special Effects Makeup demo, stilt walkers, over 30 vendors, face painters and a Witch’s Brew Tent with fall beverages are among the offerings at the Halloween Spooktacular at the field at Bristol Arts and Innovation Magnet School from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

A pumpkin carving contest encourages participants to bring their best carved pumpkin and a battery powered light to illuminate the carving to the Bristol Arts and Culture booth upon arrival. The winner will be announced at 8:30 p.m. Winners will be displayed at the Bristol Parks Recreation Youth and Community Services building on High St.

While separate from the Spooktacular, tickets are still available for Downtown Live’s Rocky Horror Picture Show with live shadow-cast by RKO Army, in the Rockwell Theater. The pre-show begins at 6:15 p.m.

Bristol Parks Recreation, Youth and Community Services, sponsor of the Spooktacular will provide candy to each vendor and a bag for anyone who wants to trick-or-treat. Vendors will include food trucks, hot cocoa and coffee baristas, delectable treats, face painters, hands-on activities and arts and crafts!

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
