Angela (Mone) DiMatteo, 87, of Bristol, beloved wife of Nicola DiMatteo, died on Sunday, Nov. 5, at home. Angela was born on Aug. 30, 1936, in Alvignano, Italy, and was the only daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina (Mastroianni) Mone.
She was raised in Italy where she married Nicola and together they moved to Bristol in 1958. She worked for O-Z/Gedney and Vita’s Market before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, her flowers, gardening, and dancing with her great-grandchildren.
She was known to be kind-hearted and a woman who took care of everyone and was fond of family traditions. She also kept a clean home especially her pristine “white room” at home. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Anthony Church.
In addition to her husband of 65 years, Angela is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and Jay Gienty of Bristol; two granddaughters: Kristin Ferguson and husband, Shawn, and Shannon Fascendini and husband, Jake; five great-grandchildren: Hadleigh, Scarlett, Savannah, Caleb, Ariyah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: John, Fred, and Joseph Mone.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol.
