Two adults were pronounced dead at scene and three children were transported to area hospitals as the result of a single car crash on Stevens St., east of Cherry Hill Dr, according to the Bristol Police Dept. release earlier this morning.

Bristol Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the call from the Bristol-Farmington town line where the crash occurred. Upon arrival, a vehicle was located off of the roadway along the northern side of the road. The call came at 7:13 p.m. Thursday evening.

The initial investigation showed that a westbound vehicle was traveling on Morea Road in Farmington, had crossed into Bristol on Stevens Street, east of Cherry Hill Drive and had left the roadway to the right, striking a roadway sign and vegetation/trees. The vehicle continued through the woods until coming to a stop.

Bystanders and first responders were able to provide medical aid for the occupants inside of the vehicle and the fire department worked on extricating some of the occupants. There were a total of five victims inside of the vehicle.

The Bristol Police Department is working with several agencies to identify all occupants of the vehicle and to notify next of kin.

Bristol Police are also asking for homeowners with home surveillance systems in the area that may have captured the vehicle prior to the crash as it traveled on Morea Road in Farmington to please contact Officer McKirryher (860)584-3033 or andrewmckirryher@bristolct.gov.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
