Three Bristol retail shops found to be selling tobacco, vapes to underage children

Three Bristol tobacco retail stores were found to be conducting illegal sales of tobacco and/or vapes to underage children after surprise inspections on Tuesday, Dec. 5., the Bristol Police Dept. announced in a release earlier this morning.

The following tobacco retail stores were found non-compliant by the police as they sold to underage undercover agents that worked during these operations:

  • Smoke Hive -795 King St.
    Owner: Muhamed Ali was charged with sale of electronic nicotine system or vapor product to minors
  • Leo Smoke and Vape- 257 Main St.
    Owner: Nasser Nadeesh was charged with sale of electronic nicotine system or vapor product to minors
  • Gas Man -180 Riverside Ave.
    Clerk: Usman Muhammad was charged with sale of electronic nicotine system or vapor product to minors

Tuesday morning, the Bristol Police Narcotic Enforcement Team (NET) along with the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program conducted the unannounced compliance inspections. They were following up on information obtained earlier in November.
